Craig Ferguson Announces Departure from The Late Late Show

Let the talk show host carousel begin anew.
Craig Ferguson announced during a taping of The Late Late Show today that he will leave the program in December.
"CBS and I are not getting divorced, we are 'consciously uncoupling,'" Ferguson joked. "But we will still spend holidays together and share custody of the fake horse and robot skeleton, both of whom we love very much."
David Letterman of course, announced his own retirement (effective in 2015) earlier this month, with Stephen Colbert named as his replacement.
Some believe Ferguson is upset over not being considered for the 11:35 p.m. gig.
"During his 10 years as host, Craig has elevated CBS to new creative and competitive heights at 12:30," said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment. "He infused the broadcast with tremendous energy, unique comedy, insightful interviews and some of the most heartfelt monologues seen on television."
Added Tassler:
"Craig's versatile talents as a writer, producer, actor and comedian speak to his great days ahead. While we'll miss Craig and can't thank him enough for his contributions to both the show and the Network, we respect his decision to move on, and we look forward to celebrating his final broadcasts during the next eight months."

V. Stiviano: Who the Heck is She?

By now, even non-sports fans know who Donald Sterling is:
He's the bigoted billionaire who owns the Los Angeles Clippers and who doesn't believe a respectable white person should be seen in public with an African-American.
But what about V. Stiviano, the woman who taped many conversations with Sterling and who is at the center of this race-based scandal? Who the heck is this person?!?
Only 31, Stiviano was born Maria Vanessa Perez.
She spent years telling folks that she served as Sterling's "archivist," denying talk that she was the 80-year old's girlfriend.
But TMZ has obtained court documents - filed this month in conjunction with a lawsuit against Stiviano, in which Sterling's wife accuses her of duping the owner out of millions of dollars - that tell a different story.
In these legal papers, Stiviano admits that she's been involved personally with Sterling for years.
The relationship is undefined, but Stiviano says it was "neither [a] hidden, closeted, nor a clandestine 'affair' at any time," adding it was "open notorious, obvious and long standing."
V. Stiviano also refers to herself as a prop to show off Sterling's "sexual prowess."
And, in the end apparently, also a prop to show off his extreme racism.
Sterling and Stiviano are reportedly working on a settlement that will stop the leaking of these damaging recordings.
Insiders say Stiviano is in possession of hundreds of hours worth of tapes, each depicting Donald Sterling as an awful human being, and that she's willing to accept money in exchange for keeping the rest quiet.
Mom Beats Daughter For Sharing Racy Photos, Posts Video on Facebook

When a 12-year-old girl posted racy photos of herself on Facebook, her mom was upset. So she beat her HARD and posted a video of THAT on Facebook:
This was not your run-of-the-mill beating, either.
Helen Bartlett whipped her offspring with a strap for several minutes, causing the video to go viral and spark a heated debate over corporal punishment.
Some viewers support the mom's actions, while others are appalled, for obvious reasons - and this isn't even the full-length video she put online.
You can see the uncensored version Barlett shared - and has no regrets about. She says she is "prepared to go to jail" to set her "problem child" straight.
She says she beat her daughter for posting underwear photos and sexting, and did it to keep her off the streets and stop her from getting pregnant.
Noble goals, to be sure ... but seriously?
Perhaps most amazingly, a few days after this went up, the 12-year-old and her older sister put up their own video, in which they defended their mom.
They said she was a good mother who just wanted to protect them, reassuring viewers that her mom loves her and she has no intention of killing herself.
She hasn't, however, been back to school.
Since the video of the beating went viral last week, her mother says she fears being made fun of there and getting bullied ... how's that for irony?
In her video, the 12-year-old said, "I am very sorry for bringing shame on you and the family. I know you love me dearly. And I love you dearly, too."

Kanye West has always pushed the boundaries of hip hop music, but for his next project Yeezus has decided to drop the "music" part altogether.
Yes, if you're a fan of beats, melodies or other things that make Kanye's obnoxious boasting tolerable, you may want to skip his as-yet untitled eighth studio album, which will reportedly consist of three hours of Kanye talking.
Three. Hours. Of Kanye. Just talking.
What will 'Ye talk about, you ask? Everything, of course!
"He has very strong views on everything from music and art to politics and the environment," says a source close to the production, adding, "Kanye loves the sound of his own voice."
In other news, water has been found to be wet and the Pope is apparently a Catholic.
Evidently, Kanye's three weddings aren't enough of an annoying statement of self-importance.
So, if when you're at a party, you like to seek out the most arrogant, opinionated loudmouth in the room and listen to him babble on for hours, you're sure to love Kanye's new album!
It's all of the ego you can possible fit in one album with none of that pesky music getting in the way. If we're really lucky, maybe he'll throw in a nasally cameo from his fiancee.

The reality star and the rapper were bombarded with cameraman outside nightclub Crustacean this weekend, only for Khloe to stop and pose with a panhandler.
Out of the goodness of her wealthy heart? Not exactly. Watch this unexpected Kodak moment take place in the foreground... just as Montana tries to sneak past photographers in the background. HA! It nearly worked...

The Night's King: HBO Accidentally Reveals Major Game of Thrones Spoiler

Last night's episode of Game of Thrones may have featured a baby being sacrificed and an adult woman seducing a teenage boy, but the thing that really has fans upset is the accidental reveal of a major character's identity that was supposed to remain secret.
We'll go ahead and warn you now that even if you have read the George R.R. Martin novels upon which the series is based, there are some major GoT spoilers ahead:
Season 4 episode 4 of Game of Thrones ended with a terrifying scene in which a baby is left in the woods, only to be scooped up by a White Walker and transformed.
It's the sort of nightmare-inducing moment we've come to expect from the hit series, but for rabid fans of the books, the scene was hard to watch for a different reason:
The ultimate badass White Walker who steals the baby's soul was revealed in an HBO online synopsis to be the legendary Night's King - a character who has yet to appear in the first five installments of Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series.
The King has been mentioned briefly in the books as a sort of boogeyman used to frighten young children, but by confirming that the first White Walker is alive and well and snatching up babies, GoT broke an unspoken rule by entering territory not yet covered in the books.
If you're not an obsessive GoT fan, this may seem like a pretty minor offense, but since the show has thus far kept pace with Martin's novels and the Night's King may prove vital to the story's conclusion, it's easy to see why some fans feel betrayed and have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure.

Khloe Kardashian Under Fire for Gun and Sheep Costume

The Kardashians are world-class attention-seekers, but they usually rely on tried and true methods like sex tapes and famous boyfriends to stay in the spotlight.
But since everyone and their sister is getting naked on Instagram these days, Khloe Kardashian decided to get experimental by posting this photo of herself wearing a sheep costume and holding a giant handgun.
Just as she'd hoped, the pic has received a lot of attention, but probably not in the way Khloe had expected.
The Fort Hood shooting is still a recent and painful memory for millions of Americans and gun control remains one of the country's most hotly debated issues, so Khloe has understandably come under fire for the ill-timed post that many see as a glorification of firearms.
In all likelihood, Khloe didn't intend to make any kind of political statement and is likely just trying to distract from rumors that she's having a baby with French Montana.
But who knows? Maybe Khloe is trying to send the message that she's ready to defend herself in the event that the devastated Lamar Odom tries to win her back.
Or maybe this is her way of showing the world what kind of mother she would: an absolutely freakin' terrifying one.
We'll probably never know for sure why Khloe posted the world's strangest selfie, but at least we know she's not the black sheep of the family anymore.

Donald Sterling Racism Prompts Companies to Yank Clippers Sponsorship

In the wake of Donald Sterling's horribly offensive comments about minorities, a number of high-profile companies have pulled their sponsorship of his professional basketball team.
Red Bull, State Farm, CarMax, AQUAhydrate, Kia and Virgin America all announced today that they are at the very least suspending all affiliation with the Los Angeles Clippers.
That's what happens when you berate your girlfriend for interacting with African-Americans and when you condescendingly way you put food on the plates of black players.
"We trust and respect the NBA's process to formally investigate the matter, and in the interim, are suspending all team-related marketing activities," Red Bull said in a statement. "We will continue to support our Red Bull athlete, Blake Griffin, his teammates and coaching staff in their pursuit of an NBA title."
Added CarMax:
"CarMax finds the statements attributed to the Clippers' owner completely unacceptable. These views directly conflict with CarMax's culture of respect for all individuals. While we have been a proud Clippers sponsor for 9 years and support the team, fans and community, these statements necessitate that CarMax end its sponsorship."
A number of celebrities have also spoken out against Sterling. Here is what they've said:

It's a shame that Donald Sterling feels that way about African-Americans. He has a team full of amazing African-American basketball players that are working to bring a championship to Clippers fans. The Clippers also have a strong minority fan base.

Shaquille O'Neal: Everyone has their thoughts. When your opinions and thoughts become public knowledge, the question is, now what? Another question is: will his team shut down on him and take his remarks personally?...I think the league should take a long hard look on whether this guy should continue to be an owner or not.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, meanwhile, has scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. EST tomorrow in which he will address the league's investigation into Sterling's remarks.
