Duchess Kate Middleton Ready For "Significant Upsurge" in Royal Duties

Now that Duchess Kate Middleton and Prince William are back from their vacation Down Under, the pair are getting ready to take on more duties around the palace.
An aide to Kate, William, and Harry said that the trio will soon see "a significant upsurge in engagements." Not only is this good for those they'll be helping, but it means we'll get to see even more of our favorite Royals.
Duchess Kate will spend the coming months working on campaigns dedicated to increasing palliative care which aims to support families as well as children when those children are facing illnesses. During her trip to Australia, Kate spoke at Bear Cottage urging the audience to support families as well as children.
Dear Prince William gave her a "woo hoo!"
Speaking of Prince William, he'll be attending a friend's wedding and then he'll either take on more royal duties as his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, is 88 and grandfather Prince Philip is 93, or he'll take a government job doing charity or public service work.
Both will be a good platform for the duo to continue their efforts to support wounded and former servicemen and women and children.
Prince Harry, meanwhile, will visit Chile, Brazil, Estonia, and Italy, and he'll host the Invictus Games, a paralympic-style event, in London in September.
Warriors Fans React to Donald Sterling, Conquer the Internet

A pair of Golden State Warriors fans have won the Internet.
As part of the outcry against Donald Sterling's racists comments that leaked online over the weekend, these two gentlemen attended the Warriors-Clippers game in Oakland on Sunday afternoon.
And their signs say it all, don't they?
Sterling, of course, has been caught on taped berating girlfriend V. Stiviano because she posted photos to Instagram of herself and Magic Johnson.
The 80-year old owner ordered Stiviano not to be seen in public with any African-Americans and definitely not to bring any to his team's games. Hence, the inspiration behind the above signage.
At 2 p.m. EST today, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will hold a press conference in which he announced some kind of punishment against Sterling.
He's expected to issue a hefty fine against Sterling and likely suspend the owner for some duration of time. At the very least.
A number of high-profile celebrities, meanwhile, have spoken out against Donald Sterling, who has a history of racial discrimination lawsuits and incidents.

Sources say former BFFs Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are fighting over Justin Bieber, and no...it's not because Taylor wants to add another name to her long list of celebrity boyfriends.
Apparently Taylor agrees with the rest of the world that Justin is just no good for Selena and the two singers have ended their friendship as a result of their Bieb-related disagreement.
Selena and Taylor had a "falling out" regarding Justin earlier this year and even though it looks like Selena is dating Orlando Bloom these days, sources say she's still "not in the mood to reconcile" with Taylor.
This feud may help explain why Selena deleted her Instagram recently and stated that she'd like to remove "toxic" people from her life.
It may also explain why Taylor has been seen courting new BFFs like Karlie Kloss and Sarah Hyland. Is she trying to make Selena jealous or simply trying to replace her former bestie?
Either way, insiders say Taylor has tried to patch things up with Selena to no avail.
"She feels like Taylor is going to say 'I told you so,'" says one source. "There's not much more she can do. It's a two-way street and Selena needs to make an effort too."

Amy Purdy: In Pain, In Good Hospital Hands

Amy Purdy remains alive and well on Dancing with the Stars Season 18.
Mostly well, that is.
The impressive contestant was actually hospitalized due to back pain last night, telling Erin Andrews backstage that it was "hard to breathe" because her back just "seized up."
The Paralympian snowboarder missed the team dance later in the evening to receive treatment and, as of this writing, remains under doctor's care.
"Thanks for your support everyone!" Purdy Tweeted from the hospital last night. "The [doctor] thinks it's muscular, still waiting on the official word… As we walked away from the judging table my upper back cracked and went into spasms… in pain but I'm in good hands."
Partner Derek Hough paid Purdy a visit and her status remains unclear for next week.
Fingers crossed," she wrote. "We'll know soon enough."

Craig Ferguson Steps Down from The Late Late Show: Who Should Replace Him?

As previously reported, Craig Ferguson stepped down from The Late Late Show yesterday.
He will officially depart as host in December.

Miranda Barbour's Sister Blames Mother For Her Actions

Craigslist Killer Miranda Barbour didn't become a murderer on her own, sister Ashley Dean told Dr. Phil. Their mother, Elizabeth, made her that way.
"My mom made Miranda the way she is," Ashley cried. "My mom has been a bad mom."
In an interview with Dr. Phil, Ashley accused their mother of being inattentive and neglectful which she says led to Miranda Barbour's current state.
"I just want to make it clear that it's not my sister's fault," Dean said. "She's not this monster on her own. It's come from someone else."
In 2012, Miranda Barbour reached out to Dr. Phil to get help for their mother whom she called a "pill-popping drunk." McGraw says they tried to reach out to her but couldn't make contact.
Ashley Dean confirmed her sister's statements about their mother saying that they were both sexually assaulted when Ashley was 6 and Miranda was 3. While their abuser went to prison for 9 years, that, Ashley believes, is part of the reason Miranda turned out the way she did.
"You have to understand where Miranda's coming from," Ashley explained. "You have to understand what happened to her when she was younger."
Elizabeth says she tried to get Miranda help, taking her to therapists over the years, but her efforts were for naught. However, she loves her daughter and will never turn her back on Miranda.
Miranda Barbour, 19, and husband Elytte Barbour, were charged with the November 2013 murder of Troy LeFerrara. The two lured him to a hotel where they brutally murdered him using a Craigslist ad. Miranda went on to tell a reporter in February of 2014 that she was a serial killer with 21 bodies to her list.
That, however, has turned out to be false, as no other murders linked to Miranda and Elytte Barbour have been uncovered.
No one believes that Miranda Barbour has killed anyone other than Troy LeFerrara based on interviews, evidence, and her journals.
Her mother's proof that Miranda isn't a serial killer? Shoddy craftsmanship.
"My daughter is not a serial killer," Elizabeth Dean told Dr. Phil.
"I don't believe Miranda has killed more than one person because this one is so sloppy."
McGraw confirmed Elizabeth Dean's theory saying that there are no references, veiled or otherwise, to any other murders in her journals and noting that it seems an odd thing to be left out.
The two face the death penalty for LeFerrara's murder and Ashley says that if her sister is convicted she deserves to pay for the consequences of her actions even if Miranda Barbour was only acting to please her husband.
Porsha Williams: Kordell Stewart Physically Abused Me!

The split between Porsha Williams and Kordell Stewart continues to get uglier. In an interview given yesterday the Real Housewives of Atlanta star accused Stewart of physically assaulting her on numerous occasions.
Discussing her debut single "Flatline," Porsha stated that while the song "does touch on domestic violence and some abuse I encountered in my marriage, it's not exact to what I went through...what I went through was a little bit worse in some instances."
Asked to elaborate, Porsha said simply, "Abuse. Physical abuse."
Reportedly, Stewart was embarrassed for Porsha and attempted to distance himself from his estranged wife following her violent appearance on this season's Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion show.
Now, it looks like Porsha isn't the only one with a tendency to resort to violence.
Porsha's attack on Kenya Moore resulted in her arrest and she happily discussed her famous mugshot and how happy she was to be recognized by other prisoners during her brief time in jail.
Returning to the topic of Kordell, Porsha concluded by saying that she regrets waiting until her marriage was over to speak out about the abuse she endured:
"Even though you're being abused, you still love that person. You try to love them through it...I just thought that I could make it better."
The former NFL star has yet to respond to the allegations.
